Tyson Fury Claims Planned Fight With Anthony Joshua Is Off

Anthony Joshua’s planned showdown with Tyson Fury in April seems to be no more, according to the British boxer himself.

It’s officially over, he wrote in a statement posted on Twitter, before adding that the fight will not happen because I’m now retired.

This news comes less than two months after promoter Eddie Hearn announced the bout, which was expected to take place at the Manchester Arena and would have been the biggest event in UK boxing history.

Fury (26-0-1) has not fought since November 2015 and lost his WBA, WBO and IBF titles shortly thereafter due to inactivity.

‘It’s Officially Over’

The planned fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is off, according to Fury.

In an interview on the BBC’s Sports week show, the heavyweight boxer said that it was all over but did not offer any details as to why the deal fell through.

Joshua is currently in America for a promotional tour, and offered no comment on the matter.

If a rematch with Klitschko does not materialize, then this will be another title opportunity that goes by the wayside for Joshua who has been chasing Klitschko since beating him in April of last year.

‘I Don’t Think The Man Has Ever

Had A Round In His Life, And That We Were Going To Roll Him Over? How Are We Going To Roll Him Over?

By Stopping Him In 10 Rounds?

I Think He Knows That, He’s Smarter Than Me, He Knows What He’s Doing.

So I Do Not Think That This One Is On.

Can’t See This One Happening At All.

Joshua Usa, the British

heavyweight boxer, was set to fight U.S. heavy weight champion and former world champion Tyson Fury.

But now, Tyson has claimed that the fight is off for good.

In an interview with iFL TV, he said I don’t think the man has ever had a round in his life, adding and that we were going to roll him over?

How are we going to roll him over?

By stopping him in 10 rounds?

He then continues with I think he knows that, he’s smarter than me, he knows what he’s doing.

A formal date for the fight has not been announced yet but it is not likely to happen at this point in time as Tyson claims it will not happen at all.

‘Maybe The Guy Realises He’s Done, Maybe The Guy Realises He’s Getting Beaten Up

Fury was due to fight Joshua in a heavyweight unification bout at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, but the English man’s promoter, Frank Warren, said the 28 year old was unavailable.

He’s not here. He’s not answering his phone, Warren told BBC Radio 5 Live. I don’t know what to say.

I can’t answer any more questions.

There Was No Date Set For The Bout

There was no date set for the bout, we were looking at end of November or early December to fight, but now it looks like we are going to have to look at something else, Fury said on BT Sport’s The Gloves Are Off.

I don’t know what happened with the negotiations, I can’t speak on it.

Anthony Joshua is not backing down from Tyson Fury, despite the latter’s recent claims that their fight is off.

Joshua is quoted as saying, I can tell you now I am ready, willing and able. There will be no excuses on my side.

I won’t be making any excuses for why it didn’t happen with Fury because it doesn’t matter what he says or does now.

It’s over as far as I’m concerned. He also stated that if they do meet in the ring, he will make sure to deliver a knockout victory.

Joshua has been in training for two months for this fight, but other than that he has remained mum about the specifics of his training regime or strategy going into the bout with Fury.
