They won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2008 and have reached the finals twice since then.

• Kolkata Knight Riders Based out of Kolkata, West Bengal, the Kolkata Knight Riders have been one of the most consistent IPL teams.

They have won two titles and have reached the finals three times.

• Sunrisers Hyderabad This team is based out of Hyderabad, Telangana and was founded in 2012.

They won the title in 2016 and have made the playoffs five times.
