The Rose Bowl

Not only did the University of Texas beat out USC for this year’s Rose Bowl, but they also won against Oregon.

They were victorious in both games and earned a total of 45 points, which is a record setting number.

This is the fourth time that the Texas Longhorn football team has been to the Rose Bowl, but never before have they won in such impressive fashion.

They are now ranked first among all colleges in their division, making them a force to be reckoned with.

College Gameday Coming to Austin

The Texas Longhorn football team has been on a winning streak, and it looks like they’re not slowing down anytime soon.

The University of Texas is one of the top contenders for national championships this year,

and College Gameday will be broadcasting from Austin for their game against Oklahoma on October 6th.

This is huge for the city, as there are only four games that have ever been aired from Austin in College Gameday’s entire history.

Team Travels Internationally

It’s not uncommon for Texas Longhorns football to travel internationally to play opponents.

In fact, it’s been happening for as long as people can remember!

The first time a game was played outside of U.S. borders was during the 1921-1922 season, when UT took on Occidental College in Mexico City and won 7-0.

NCAA Teams Travel Abroad

NCAA teams have been traveling to other countries for years, but it has only been in recent years that foreign teams have begun to host games on their soil.

Teams such as Texas, Ohio State, and Kentucky have all traveled abroad in recent years.

In a study done by Sports Illustrated, forty-four of fifty-one schools had played games outside of the United States.

There are many reasons why more and more NCAA teams are playing abroad.

They Are Good Role Models For Young Fans

In Texas, football is more than just a sport. It’s a way of life.

When Texas Longhorns football players take to the field, they are not only representing their university,

they’re also representing the entire state. As such, it is important for them to be role models for all fans who look up to them and want to be like them someday.

These athletes work hard to maintain their fitness and health so that they can get on the field in peak condition when it matters most.

Some of the Players Have Become Stars in Their Own Rights

In recent years, Texas Longhorn football players have become stars in their own rights.

One player who has come to prominence is running back D’Onta Foreman, a two time All American and 2016 Doak Walker Award winner.

Foreman set Texas records for rushing yards (2,028) and total touchdowns (21) in 2016.

Foreman’s success has helped pave the way for other lesser known UT players, like senior quarterback Shane Buechele and sophomore receiver Collin Johnson.
